Expected Pointless · Sunday 11 October 2026, 07:44 UK

This is our FPL GW6 team reveal, published now that the deadline (Saturday 10 October, 11:00 UK) has passed. We lined up in a 3-5-2 with Mbeumo as captain and Haaland as vice-captain, and our model projects the starting eleven at 61.1 points before the captain's double.

Why is Mbeumo our GW6 captain?

Mbeumo is projected at 7.0 against Spurs at home, and our model has Haaland at 6.8 away at Liverpool. The gap is small, so the choice comes down to the fixture. Haaland's trip to Anfield is the tougher assignment on paper, while Mbeumo plays at home and is owned by only 19.9% of managers, against 74.6% for Haaland.

That ownership gap matters if you are chasing rank. A captain return from Mbeumo moves us against most of the field, whereas a Haaland haul mostly keeps us level with it. Haaland is the vice-captain, so he covers us if Mbeumo does not play.

Haaland's projections do rise after this week: our model has him at 11.3 against Ipswich in GW7 and 9.1 at Aston Villa in GW8. This is a one-week captaincy call, not a view on him as a player. For more options, see our captain picks for the week and the captain page.

What transfer did we make for GW6?

One. M.Sangaré went out and Groß came in. Sangaré was projected at 2.5 for GW6 and 12.3 over the next six gameweeks. Groß is projected at 6.2 at Sunderland this week and 33.7 over the next six, and he costs £6.0m. No points hit is recorded against the move.

Brighton's fixtures are the reason. De Cuyper (£5.0m) and Groß both face Sunderland away this week, each projected at 6.2, and then Crystal Palace at home, where De Cuyper is projected at 7.1 and Groß at 6.8. That double Brighton exposure is a deliberate bet on one team's fixtures, and it carries the risk of a poor result hurting two players at once.

Where is the XI strongest, and where is it thin?

Chelsea supply Rogers (£7.8m, 5.7) and João Pedro (£7.7m, 6.0), both at home to Bournemouth. João Pedro is owned by 67.4% of managers, so he is protection rather than a differential.

The weaker spots are Ødegaard and Gibbs-White, both projected at 4.8. Gibbs-White costs £8.0m and Nottingham Forest are away at Palace, so he is the player we would look at first if we were short of funds. In defence, Calafiori is projected at 4.7 and Guéhi at 4.6, with Tzolakis in goal at 4.3.

The bench is Martinez (3.8), Wissa (4.5), Gvardiol (4.4) and Egan (3.8), in that order. None carries a fitness flag in the data we hold.

How has our team done this season?

Our team has beaten the FPL Experts in three of five gameweeks, 29 points behind on total, and 20 points above the FPL average. See us v the FPL Experts for the running comparison, and the live scores page to follow this gameweek.

How we worked this out

Every number here is our model's projection for GW6 or the following gameweeks, built from fixtures, expected minutes and recent output. They are forecasts, not guarantees. Ownership and prices come from the FPL game data. We publish how those forecasts have performed on the model accuracy page. Our team news for the week is here.

How this is written: an AI model drafts it from our projections and FPL's own data, and it is published only after an automatic check that every number, player and link in it comes from that data. The projections are graded in public on the scorecard.
